When I first got into buying and selling things in person I didn’t really think about ways to connect to a buyer and a seller. But, now with the internet the ways to connect are so much more, so I did some research and put together this article to answer it.

So, what is the best way to connect a buyer and a seller? The best way to connect a buyer and seller is unique to what is being sold. Some products for example fitness coaching are done in person. But, all businesses can benefit from online methods, but to what degree differs.

The relationship between buyer and seller is an interesting one. It can be like a relationship with a friend. So, below I will discuss the buyer seller dynamic and what we know about, as well as, more details on the best way to connect them.

What is the best way for the buyer and seller to connect?

The best way to connect for most businesses is through online websites like social media. Many customers are able to find the products they want online with the help of Google, and websites. In a recent study by Statista.com in 2020, they showed that online sales account for 14% of all retail sales.

Therefore, many people are using online stores and marketplaces to buy products.

A marketplace that you’d probably want to try out because it has zero selling fees is sheepbuy.

Note: A different word for buyer and seller is marketing. So, I will use that throughout the rest of the article.

Marketing can be done in many ways. Selling products online is becoming more and more attractive to businesses because of how easy it is, and it’s convenience.

Many people buy products online multiple times per week. So, any online marketing is very effective to make the initial connection.

Although marketing online is a good method for most businesses, certain businesses do well without online buyer and seller connections. Below, is a list of ways that businesses meet new customers and a way for customer meet them that are ONLY offline:

  1. Networking. There are many events that are held weekly in your local area. This may not be the case if you live in a rural area.

But, regardless going to events in your area and handing out business cards is a solid method for generating new business.

People form more trust when they meet you in person, or watch a video of you talking on youtube.

  1. Speaking events. Speaking events are where people buy tickets to go to a show. At the show famous and influential speakers talk. There are many of these small and large events and some have very high ticket prices. You can give a presentation and at the end a subtle pitch about your products.
  1.  Print publications. Depending on the industry you are in a print publication is a great way to bring in new buyers, and for sellers to see your brand. Oftentimes, they are fairly inexpensive, and bring in many enquiries. You should get to know the publication and what sorts of things would get their interest. There are likely many good courses and information online regarding how to write good print ads.
  1. Direct Mail. Using direct mail is an old school marketing method that is effective. Many people have found success with lumpy mail. Lumpy mail is an unusual object that people send to businesses.

Inside there is a letter with some sales copy. To do this, people send mail to people they think are interested in their products and services.

  1. Cold Calls. This is very hard to do for most people, because it involves a lot of rejection. Once people get good at it, they can book appointments, and then do sales calls using Skype or over the phone.
  1. Flyer drops. Printing up a whole bunch of flyers and going and putting them out there. They fall into the hands of your potential customers and they reach out to you for your products or services. A solid offline method.

My favorite online methods for doing buyer and seller connections are:

  1. Emailing business owners. Business owners who need your products or services can be contacted by email. When you do this if you are offering what they want, they will respond to you, where you can set up an appointment to make a sale.

You need to be careful when doing this because if people report you as spam future emails you send will not be sent.

This is a setting which Gmail and the popular email providers use. It came up as a result of spam, which is unwanted and fraudulent emails.

  1. Social media. Using business platforms like Linkedin is a good way to connect with your potential buyers.

People are on there to connect, find employees, and showcase their skills. It makes it easy for companies to hire people because all of their credentials are listed in their profile.

It works like Facebook where you can message back and forward between each other. Facebook is another good platform to connect with buyers and sellers. On it you can join groups. In these groups you can help people, and make friends. After that, you invite them to check out your website.

  1. Using online marketplaces. Online marketplaces connect buyers and sellers together via specially designed websites like Amazon.com. Here sellers can list their items, and buyers can browse their items.

Many of the largest websites have millions upon millions of users. There are also marketplaces where people who offer a service bid on projects.

Many companies outsource work to subcontractors, and this happens online too. Websites like Upwork.com, and Freelancer.com do this.

This website you are on now is an online marketplace, where we offer free listings. If you are interested in selling or buying products online, you should definitely create an account and see what we have to offer.

To do this go to the register an account page which can be accessed by clicking here.

  1. Websites. Using your own website to sell your products and show information about your business is a strong way to brand your business, and gives a good impression to your customers.

Although, having your own website is a bit expensive. This is because you have to pay for hosting, and publicity. Many sellers start off on a marketplace then migrate towards their own website.

Buyer and seller connections are the key part of a business

When a business is working well, there are a lot of buyer and seller connections. This has happened because of marketing.

A company has a good marketing strategy when they are connecting regularly to buyers. They can do this by email. They can send them interesting things they have been working on.

This increases the relationship between the buyer and the seller. When there is a good relationship the customers buy more products. This makes the business person feel good about the relationship and they continue to help each other.

When a company doesn’t have many buyer and seller connections, not many sales are made, and the business can go out of business. This is why buyer and seller connections are so key to the business.

Conclusion

The best ways to connect a buyer and seller are dependent on what sort of business you are running. Some do fine without online methods, but online is an excellent way to market you business. It allows the customer to get to know you more before they buy from you.

There are also offline marketing methods to connect with your buyers. These are networking, flyers, speaking events, and many others. Businesses often experiment with different ways to connect to find what works best for their unique business.
